Country Drive
Every six months or so I get together with a friend who lives out in Ardrossan. It's a quiet little community, much like where I live, and I always love the drive out there.
I make a point of leaving myself an hour before our visit and an hour after our visit just so I can drive around the area and take in the sites. And since I never leave home without my camera, here's some pictures I took of my sight-seeing yesterday. My apologies up front for some fuzziness, someone took the tripod out of the back of the truck and didn't bother telling me! The temperature was cold and as good as my Canon EOS 30D camera is, it can only do so much with me holding it and shivering.
These Geese were quite far from me but by the time they flew overhead, they were almost in their 'V' formation.
I always admire people, or in this case a Goose, who refuse to follow the crowd. When I walked into the field where these Geese were, they let me get pretty close. Then, as if on queue, they all turned around and started waddling away.....all but one that is.
There were hundreds of Geese in this field, all chunkin up for the big fly south no doubt.
I looked up at one point and saw what I felt looked like a Capital 'T'. I want to believe it was the Geese's way of saying "Hey Mrs. T here's one for you."
I think this Magpie was saying "giddy-up"...but I'm not sure.....maybe it was "get up".
This was fascinating to me. I was driving by a subdivision and this acreage had a birdhouse on each fence post.....around the entire acreage! All different colors, shapes and sizes. Now that's someone with a lot of time on their hands.....and personally I'm grateful for it.
