Before & After Pictures of Michael's Room
Finally! Here are the pictures of Michael's new room. I decided to make a new category for before and after renovations to the house. I have garage pictures somewhere on here that I'll add to the category and there are few new things being done to the house in the next little while so what the heck. I might even find reno pics of all the other changes we've made to this house. I know I know. One more category.
Click on the pictures to make them bigger if you want. There were a few pictures so I didn't want this post too big.
So here we go. This is the before.....
And after.....
There are still pictures to go on the wall but this gives you a pretty good sense of what it looks like. Michael is thrilled with it and I loved painting and decorating it for him.

Wow, it's just like in the magazines or on those fancy schmancy TV remodelling shows. So, was it your idea to have a change, or did he grow out of the pastel smiley faced suns and stars? It looks great and I am sure he is just tickled by the new digs. Great job.

Okay, they might be snowflakes, who can tell. My son says your son is lucky. My oldest daughter pointed out the girl in the bikini picture and said nice picture (sarcastically I should include). I appreciate your talent.

Looks great! I actually have a red accent wall in my living room and it's pretty much the exact color red you have in there. Love it.

Wow - what a transformation. The room looks bigger after it is done for some reason.

Penney and theotherbear: Thanks ladies.
Dawn: Kelsey moved out on her own and Michael wanted her old room because it's the room closest to the bathroom. Hence the girly yellow color and, ahem, moons and stars on it. He let me go ahead and pick out the colors of the walls and also the curtains and bedding. He's a typical guy and could care less about those things. He 'did' come with me to IKEA to pick out furniture though and he actually helped a lot on what he wanted there.
And yes, there are girly pictures on his wall. What can I say. He gets that from his father!
Karina: I love the red, my son loves the red, everyone who sees the red loves it. But I will NEVER do another red wall again in my lifetime!!!! Oh I'll hire someone to do it, but me? Never. I got the best of the best primer I could get and still I had trouble with that red. I talked to painters I know and I wasn't alone. Red is a bear to paint with! Every streak, every imperfection is seen. Arrrrgh! And I'm a perfectionist so you can imagine the turmoil on that freakin wall LOL
Karmyn: It DOES look bigger. And it's not just because I used my wide angle lens either :o) I had seen pictures of a room done with three different colors and loved it. I decided to use my son's room as the experiment room. It really is amazing how the eye can be fooled with color.

Hi Joy, just seen Michael's room, I love it, Malcolm has been talking of the red color for awhile now in the living room and I think the way you have it on the one way is very nice. I love the couch, we had a couch similar for years in our home and it wore like anything with teenagers around. Looks real good, Michael must be happy with his room. Pat

Looks great! Wanna come paint at my house? LOL
One of these days I will redecorate and paint. I am thinking that the IRS is going to pay for my bedroom set next year. I have never had one (can you believe that).

Okay, how about YOU come to Casa Bowen an re-decorate OUR bedroom? This is GREAT!
I love the colors! Yay for Michael!

WOW!! Extreme Makeover Edmonton Edition!! FABULOUS Job Joy! It really looks terrific. I don't paint, but my husband paints....sometimes! I almost always pick three different colors for my rooms...which gives me an idea for a new post!

Sirdar: Why thank you.
Lisa's Chaos: He really loves his room and has thanked me a lot for doing it.
frannie: Reality TV LOL Maybe I should have filmed me swearing while I tried painting that red wall!
chrisb: Thanks chris.
wolfbaby: You pour the Ceasars and I'll paint any room you have.
Pat: Thanks Pat, I'd say to go for it if you've been thinking of a red wall. I was pretty intimidated by it but just had it in my head it could be painted over if it didn't turn out. Yes Michael loves his new room.
Elleoz: I might have a hangover after painting wolfbaby's room but give me a day or two to recover and I'll be there. You have to supply the Ceasars though. I CAN believe about the bedroom set but I say if the IRS is paying, then get the biggest prettiest bedroom set you can find :o)
JennieBoo: *hic* I'll be there after I get wolfbaby's and Elleoz's places done. But *hic* you have to supply the Ceasars! I think my liver might be shot if I keep this up.
Debbie: Absolutely not a professional. A perfectionist yes. Professional? No. I'm also a very bored housewife/mom for the first time in my life. Which means the exercise room is next. Then the laundry room, then the......

Joy, it looks amazing! You should be so proud. Really great color choices. Your perfectionist streak did you well. ;) (don't you hate that litle sucker sometimes?)
