Sunday Stuff

I took a few days off from blogging to get some things done.  That's why there's been some really crappy blogging posts on here the last couple of days.  Ok more then the usual crap anyway.  And since it's official and I am now a Fun Monday Dud because I can never think of something to do for the hard assignments lately, monday should be another useless crappy post.  If I do a post at all.  I plan on really getting organized with posts once the new blog design is up.  Well that's the plan anyway.  If I have set things on set days I think it will make my life a whole lot easier in the blogging department.  I have emails of people asking where this week's recipe was.  I didn't realize I was posting a recipe a week for the last couple of weeks so that might be something to think of.  Heaven knows I cook enough so what the heck.  Anyway.

I did get a lot done while taking my bloggy break, but I still have a lot more to do.  For some reason I'm in Spring mode and want to get all the Spring cleaning in the house done now.  Although it could be I know how much work is awaiting me in the yard once this snow melts, so I'm trying to get all the Spring work done in the house so I won't be overwhelmed when the time comes for all the outside work.  Either that or I'm nuts.  Sometimes I think I'm making progress.  Not on being nuts.  On the Spring work.  Other times I want to sit down and weep because it doesn't seem like I'm making any progress at all.

Someone must be looking down upon me though because the skies opened up and we got more snow this weekend.  Which means a little bit longer for it all to melt and giving me more time inside.  I'm ready for the snow to be gone though.  I don't want the scorching heat of +30 C we've been getting the last couple of years during the summer, but Spring weather is beautiful.  Just warm enough to be able to wear a light jacket, yet not scorching hot to make me cranky.

I'm taking this coming week to go through the office here and give it a really good cleaning.  I want to rearrange a few things so I may as well go through everything and get that done.  I have a router to connect and put up and I'm a bit nervous about it.  Not so nervous I'm not going to do it, but still nervous because I know if it's not set up properly I could run into some trouble.  The guy...and I'm being nice here because what I really want to say is the incredibly arrogant asshole of a shithead....in Best Buy was helpful until I wouldn't agree to pay an outrageous price for them to come and hook the router up for me.  When I finally had enough and told him to stop wasting his time on trying to sell me the service of coming out and hooking this thing up, he got pretty darn ignorant with me.  Which means I had to get ignorant with him.  And I'm a peaceful loving person so it makes me cranky when I'm pushed to the point of being rude to someone.  Personally?  I think in his country he's not used to women standing up or questioning men.  What?  Oh does that sound ignorant of me to say?  I'm sorry.  Ok I'm totally lying.  I'm not sorry at all.  But I do have to hook a router up and I'm a bit itchy.  Confident but itchy.

The week after Easter is going to be tackling the cold room.  *shudder*  If I'm brave and not too humiliated, I'll take before and after pictures of it.  To be honest, I haven't gone in that room in so long it's not even funny.  The pantry beside it yes.  Cold room, no.  When I opened up the door to the cold room the other day?  My eyes got wide and I instantly closed the door back up.  Then I had a little rant to the two T teens on the importance of not just opening the cold room door and firing things in there.  There's a lot of shelving in such a small area, yet everything is on the floor or thrown on the shelves with no rhyme or reason to any of it.  I know we use the room for storing things, but it's beyond ridiculous now.  This must be fixed and I, along with the two culprits who made it like it is, are going to tackle the job.

I'm going to be heading to the paint stores soon and looking for the yellow I have in mind for the laundry room.  I have the color in my head I want to use, now we'll see if I can find it in the paint store.  I'm in no hurry for that little chore and quite frankly when I think of us moving in the next few years, I don't know if I'll even get to it.  But I've always wanted a yellow laundry room and what the heck.  It's on my Bucket List, yes a yellow laundry room is on my bucket list, got a problem with that??  You dream your way and I'll dream mine thank you very much.  Actually on my Bucket List it says "To have my dream laundry room.  Painted in yellow."  So I thought now would be as good a time as ever to make my, maybe not dream laundry room yellow, but make my tiny laundry room yellow instead.  That way if I died in the next little while, I could say I at least had a yellow laundry room.  Whatever.  I know I'm weird.  I also need to get on the exercise room.  Nope.  It's still not painted.  But I do hope to have at least the one wall done by the time Gregg is home for Easter so I can get him to hang a couple things on the one wall.  Maybe if I start with that wall, it will motivate me to finish.  Uh huh.

I too have had trouble with some of the recent fun monday topics so I'm with you about tomorrow.
I can visualise your lovely bright sunny laundry room so good luck with it. I have rooms that are desperate for a makeover but I can't seen to face it!

Guys who work in computer retail are always arrogant pricks becasue a) they don't know enough about the basics to be able to explain it effectively, so they try to sound very clever by making you feel confused, and b) they are too fucking stupid to actually work in IT and they know it, so they have a giant chip on their shoulder.

I'm sorry, do I sound condescending? It's probably just my B.Sc,Comp. My bad.

chrisb - I keep hoping to play FM, so hopefully next week.

willowtree - I'm afraid someone like me is at the mercy of those computer retail arrogant pricks sometimes. I'm never to proud to ask for help but it was so obvious getting someone to come into my home to hook this thing up was just a way for them to make extra money. But I'll tell you, my pride must be bigger then his ego because when he pulled out his pad of paper and started to 'try' and embarrass me by drawing me a picture.....I let him have it. And why did I think you worked in the trades not with computers?? I think I'm losing it.

Routers can be tricky, but I have confidence you can do it, Joy! The laundry room sounds nice. Hope you get to all your projects. Spring can be overwhelming!!! By the way, have you and Mushu received anything in your mail lately?

Way to do the spring cleaning. I'm going to have to see what 30 celcius = in American numbers. Cause knowing you silly members of Canadialand it's probably only about 70.

jeanne - I have confidence too. I haven't set it up yet though. It's sitting here starring at me. But I'll do it. And no, nothing in the mail? Ok now I'm curious!

AFF - I started with the spring cleaning and now I can't seem to stop. +30 degrees Celsius is, I believe, around 85 fahrenheit. We're sitting at -3 Celsius today so I think that would be 25 fahrenheit. Which is gorgeous weather for us but probably pretty darn cold for you pansies...I mean...Americans :o) All I know is we are used to cooler temps so the freaky +30 temps we've had for the last couple of summers makes Joy a very cranky girl. Ok crankier.

I know what you mean about the cold room, happens here too. I have the same reaction to the crawl space thus my great feeling in overcoming the fear and actually going in there. I have a yellow laundry room with a dark green and sunflower border. It has a big west window as it is on the main floor. Very bright and happy place. I love it, even though it is small and if I had a bigger one, I would paint it yellow too.

I was an electrician for 16 years before I went to University as a mature aged student (32 years old).

I am very fond of Debbie Travis' Crazy Daisy shade of yellow. I'm still waiting to paint my kitchen that colour.

I have been out of the Fun Monday Loop for awhile now.

I hope you have a great Monday anyway. :)

I think a yellow laundry room sounds lovely!

I like the idea of a yellow laundry room...if it is the right shade it can make a room look bright and sunny and airy...when is that EVER a bad thing?? LOL
