Whoa!! New Blog

Holy crap!  I clicked on here this morning and thought I was on the wrong blog.  Then I thought it looked very familiar.  Then it dawned on me....it's my new blog design!!

I was hoping to get a chance to work behind the scenes to get everything more to how I want it, but I see that didn't happen.  So bear with me everyone as I make the changes I want and get this how I want it.  Might take me a bit.  I'm not very good at this stuff....yet.

Ok I probably gave people the wrong idea here.  Let me make this clear. I am not making the changes to my blog.  I would not have the first clue as to how to make a design like this and can barely turn on my computer some days.  I do hope to learn a lot now that I am no longer on the 'advanced template' in typepad but that's a whole other post.

A lovely and patient and wonderful lady named Courtney is working on my blog design and I am just the really annoying client who tries to convey what she wants.  But in a really not very good way so if we could all say a silent 'amen' to Courtney while she tries to read my mind and get through this I would really appreciate it.

Typepad is not cooperating with Courtney so that is why the changes will have to be done out in the open like this.  I feel like I'm changing clothes in front of the whole world, or at least the two people who read my blog, so please bear with us.  She's quick and a true professional so I feel like this process is going to be how I personally like pulling off a bandaid.  Quick and pain free!

Kitten: Thanks. There is still a few things to tweak and work out but good old typepad is not making it easy. How do I change my design? I hired a wonderful and oh so patient lady named Courtney. Who I will write a post on once everything is completely done.

Hi Joy,

You visited my blog one time and left a comment. I, in turn, came to visit you. Right here is where I learned from you about the site "Picnik". Or at least I think it was you who was talking about that site. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I will be eternally grateful to you for recommending Picnik. That is the easier program I have ever seen to use. I haven't been blogging very long and still have a lot to learn. So, if I can figure out how to use Picnik then anyone can.

Robinella - Thank you about the picture. I tried to look all serious and then tried something new in Photoshop and was going for an old fashioned type look. I'm having trouble deciding if I like it or not. The program I used makes it look like I'm wearing a ton of make-up when in fact I rarely wear any make-up at all. I'm more of a smiley person so to see myself looking so serious is a bit different. Just not sure yet. Why are women so critical of themselves??

Someone offered to change mine for me recently - and oh how I know what you mean in terms of trying to relay an idea or a picture in your head of what it is you want. What I described was perfectly clear to ME, lol. Patience and perseverance, eh.

I have to say that when I first saw the new design I was a little disappointed, because I really loved the old one, it was one of my faves. But I like this one. It makes me think of summer, and God knows we could use a little bit of that round here!

Joy - when you're next speaking with Cortney can you ask her to test out the site in Firefox? The design looks beautiful in IE, but in FF 2, the page loads the graphics on the left hand side and all the text appears across the bottom of the page. Your background colours don't appear (it's all green) and the text is left justified instead of in the middle of the page. Your right hand menu appears on the left below the text.

I was so excited to click on Mushu's blog link and didn't realize the little scamp was such a fan of Ryan Seacrest and Denise Richards new show ;) Love Mushu's header!
