Tax Relief Swap - Over and Out

Some of you may remember this post from March 14th.  Some of you probably are even in this swap.  Well my swap came today and since I always post what I sent out as well as what I receive in swaps, this post will be all about the Tax Relief Swap.  Here is what the swap is all about....

April 15 has long suffered under the yoke our government has placed upon it.  Uncle Sam decided this is the day he wanted to remove your every last farthing (or for the lucky of us, redeposit some of our own hard earned money) and stick it into his grubby pockets.  No more!

DC Days and Anglophile Football Fanatic have decided we shall celebrate April 15th with a swap.  Spend some of that lovely refund, or spend a little bit more as you wallow in your carmel sweetend cup of java and murmer endearing swear words at the little IRS man.

Our names were drawn and then we swapped with our partner.  AFF and I were to swap.  So without further ado and after her parcel was delivered to three different mailboxes in the subdivision before someone finally had the sense to take it to our little post office where they know me by name already because I order way too many things off the internet...called me to tell me there had been a mix up.....because the regular mail lady who delivers our mail and NEVER screws up.....was on her honeymoon...blast her....and my parcel was sitting there waiting for me.....and this is what the lovely AFF sent me....

A Texas tea towel, pink funky drink holder with my initial on it, a paw print frame and a poor porcelain wall hanger that couldn't take the bouncy Canadian postal ride.

Thank you AFF, it was fun swapping with you!

And here is what I sent to AFF....

A white picture frame where the pictures can be turned in the frame, caramels, a wall plaque, a book, a 'blah' note pad and what isn't in the picture because I wrapped the package too fast, is our famous Canadian Hawkin's Cheezies I like to spread around to the outside world.  The black and white paper you can barely see was actually a gift bag, but I liked it so much I took the bag apart to wrap the goodies in...except for the Cheezies.  They wouldn't fit so they had to go beside the wrapped gift in the box.

How fun! and I just love hoops & yoyo. :)

What a great swap for the both of you!

How wonderful is that! I must have missed that, but that's okay, maybe we can do it next year I'll pay closer attention.
Beautiful gifts!

Well, drat! I'm sad it broke. Crap. I love how I did the Texas theme & you did the Canadian one. And, how we both did frames. I really hope a Bichon picture fits in the frame!

musing - Me too. I also never have enough notepads. Of course not that we were to be buying for ourselves but....oh nevermind.

SJ - It was fun!!! I love love love swapping.

kitten - It was a great swap with a lot of participants and I think this was the second year they had it so maybe next year it will go again.

AFF - Don't you be sad! Them's the breaks when it comes to swaps. Our postal system is fantastic but sometimes you wonder if they drag the parcels under the truck first before they deliver them. And I am deciding right now which picture of Mushu to put in that adorable frame. I'm thinking one of him and I :o) You did great and thanks so much again!

Wow! What a fun idea!

I love cheesies ... though I've never heard of Hawkin's. Must be an out west thing.

Terrific swap for the both of you! How fun!! One can just never trust the postal service...bummer that the plaque broke.

That all looks like great loot to receive!! I need to sign up for things that will increase the chances of my receiving something other than bills in the mail. Or just start buying stuff from the internet. :)

Okay, I've been blogging for nearly two years now, and been tweaking my template throughout but I've never seen as cool a set up as this. Fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh how fun! And what a good idea. Much better than paying taxes!

Both packages look such fun but what a shame about the breakage.

The one time I participate in a swap - it ended up taking me ages to get to the post office. And my swap partner didn't keep a blog. I think she commented on my blog to tell me it had arrived though. My memory is a little hazy...

Anyway, the person who sent me a package was Deborah (Humble Housewife) and boy did she send me some fun goodies!

But you got me thinking that I might just bite the bullet and participate next time. Maybe.

It's a shame about the 'life, love, laugh' ceramic. canada post can't be trusted with anything pretty, valuable or event slightly fragile.

Cool swap stuff! I love your new koozy, cozy, whatever, drink thingamajig.

How fun, swaps sound great but are mostly US based. I love the stuff you choose

Looks fun. You sent and received some nice stuff there.
