Doesn't it seem like kids are graduating earlier and earlier nowadays? I mean seriously. Look at the little munchkin below. It doesn't seem right that she's being ripped from her mother's arms and being made to graduate today. I should report someone to the authorities.
Oh all right. She isn't this little any more and she isn't being made to graduate. She actually wants to graduate and is thrilled, excited, ecstatic to graduate. And if that isn't enough? Tomorrow...Sunday...she turns 18 years old.
So if you are reading this at 7:00am MST, Samantha and I will be at a hair salon getting her hair done along with friends. I will be drinking copious amounts of champagne, while crying and taking pictures of Samantha and friends.
If you are reading this at 9:30am MST the ride will arrive and I will still be drinking copious amounts of champagne....and taking pictures....and crying. Graduates will mosey on and do what ever graduates do before they have to be at the ceremonies.
If you are reading this around 12:00pm MST Gregg, Michael and I will be leaving the house, picking up Kelsey...which I forget to tell Gregg so I'm writing a note right now to do so....and heading over to the ceremonies which start at 1:00pm. Oh and crying.
If you are reading this at 1:00pm, somewhere between 1:00-2:30ish Samantha will be walking across the stage to receive her diploma. I will be not really screaming in my seat and pumping my fist. Oh and really crying.
If you are reading this around 2:30ish-3:00pm we will be taking pictures at the designated picture taking spot. I will then proceed to take 4 million pictures. Through tears.
If you are reading this around 5:00ish we will be sitting down and eating and listening to whatever this school does at their graduation ceremonies. We don't know because the first two T children graduated at a different high school, but because Samantha always likes to beat to her own drum, er, march to her own drum, um, march to her own beat....help....she decided to attend a different high school. As a matter of fact it would be the same high school her mother attended. Yes they let her in anyway. Oh and I will probably be crying somewhere in between eating my salad and roast beef. Or whatever they're serving.
If you are reading this around 9:00ish I will be beaming with pride as Gregg and Samantha step onto the dance floor to have their first dance of the evening together. I will definitely be crying as I watch them! I will also be taking more pictures.
I could go on but I'm tired and it's time to go to bed. For tomorrow? 18 years worth of memories will flash before my eyes. I just hope all the remembering won't make my eyes all puffy and swollen.

Happy Birthday and Congratulations Sammy!!

Lovely girl. I don't recall my parents crying at my graduation. Although, I know they were happy I graduated. I was sick as a dog with epstein barre 2 weeks before grad, so they were probably just surprised that it happened. lol
Best of luck to your children's future endeavors, and bright blessings to you!

There were four or five car loads of us and none of us brought Karmyn home when she graduated from high school. Everyone else thought she was with them.

Happy birthday and happy graduation Samantha. You are truly beautiful. No wonder there is a camera happy mom stalking you.

I tried to post this comment on the post below, but it would work so I will try it here.
Hey, there is a hip hop class going on in my area if you want to join. Way fun.
Great post as usual. I too have been the responsible one, but in my posts on turning orange, I am breaking that 'not fun' barrier, one weird experience at a time. I might even join the hip hop group.

I hear you! My youngest turned 18 last December. It's really true when people say they grow up so fast.

Joy, you have hardly changed at all!
Samantha looked beautiful at her grad, and how lucky was she to be turning 18 the next day? She was minutes away from being legal.
(This is me, asuming they still drink at after grad these days...you didn't mention that.)
